Yes, but only for select piercings. Starting a piercing with a hoop will not always be recommended, some piercings may require to use a stud instead. It simply comes down to individual preference and the specific circumstances of the piercing. We'll assess whether starting with a hoop is a healthy option for your particular piercing.
We welcome many out-of-town visitors! If you're traveling or not local, you can visit safepiercing.com to find a reputable APP-certified piercer near you!
We do not pierce with sterling silver due to its high nickel content. Sterling silver can cause skin staining. Additionally, we do not use surgical steel. Surgical steel often contains nickel and other alloys that can irritate sensitive skin. Instead, we use only implant-grade titanium, niobium, or specifically made for body piercing nickel free 14k and 18k solid gold jewelry, which are scientifically proven to be the safest materials for those with skin sensitivities.
Do not rotate, this only disturbs the healing. Follow all the aftercare instructions received by your piercer.
Flush your piercing(s) with a sterile saline spray twice a day. Dry your piercing with non woven gauze. Rinse your piercing in the shower and dry the piercing when done. Pull hair away from your piercing. Avoid cleaning with alcohol, hydrogen peroxide, anti-bacterial soaps, iodine, or any harsh products as these can damage cells. Also avoid ointments as they prevent necessary air circulation.
Check your jewelry once a day to make sure it is secure. If you are visiting the hair salon please notify them of your new piercing(s) to avoid contact with harsh chemicals or loss of jewelry.
Come back to the studio for a check up and downsize after 4 weeks.
